MOVING RESOURCES
|
Here's a little help from your friendly agents at Sir Lease-A-Lot to make sure you don't overlook something important when moving to your new San Antonio Apartment. Let us know if we can help with any other information.
PRIOR to Moving Day...
You are responsible—but do not need to make arrangements for the following utilities. Your new apartment management company will arrange for the following::
water
sewer service
trash and recycle removal.
To ensure all utilities are connected at your new San Antonio apartment on the day of your move-in, you must make arrangements in advance for the connection of your utilities (deposits required).
Online:
To connect your utility services 24/7 with CPS go to: www.citypublicservice.com
Or call...
Electricity: CPS (336) 378-9451
Cable TV: Time Warner Cable - San Antonio (210) 244-0500
Address Change – Notify the postal service of your new address (kits available at the post office) or online at: https://moversguide.usps.com/?referral=USPS
Don’t forget magazine subscriptions, doctors/dentists, schools, credit card/bank companies, etc.
Renter's Insurance
Be prepared. San Antonio apartment’s property and casualty insurance does not cover damage or loss to your personal belongings. We strongly recommend that you protect your personal property by investing in renter's insurance to guard against theft, fire, smoke and water damage, etc. Contact your insurance agent for details.
The Lease - It's Official
Many find moving day less hectic if the lease/paperwork is completed prior to your move-in date. This will allow you time to review and be clear on all the material before you move into your apartment in San Antonio.
Set a date to move.
Contact a moving company or reserve a moving truck (allow 2-4 weeks notice in the summer).
Moving Tips...
* Label boxes (i.e., kitchen - glasses, living room - lamps)
* Use smaller boxes for heavier objects (i.e., books, computers)
* List/inventory all boxes and keep a copy in a safe place
* Pack fridge/freezer items in a cooler(s)
* Obtain supplies: bubble wrap (may be purchased from a moving company) is best when packing china, glass, etc. (Newspaper tends to stain).
Moving Day...
Schedule and confirm a planned starting time with those who are moving you.
Assign someone to check-off boxes as they are delivered to your new apartment in San Antonio.
Prepare a simple meal ahead of time or have extra money to eat in/order out.
